Creating a 3B store - how it works
Setting up a 3B store is really easy because the 3B store sits on top of your existing web store. All the large images on the walls come from your web site.
Feeds
If you provide a feed to a comparison shopping site, the 3B store can use that information, or alternatively 3B can 'scrape' your web site.
Engineering
What about engineering time? For most web sites it is likely you'll have a 3D store without using ANY of your engineer's time.
3B has a system which is designed to integrate with most stores with only minimal work for 3B's engineers.
Departments
The main step is deciding how to structure your store. So if you have a shoe store it's likely that you have departments like 'high heels', 'boots', 'sandals', 'flats'. All the walls in the store are numbered, so you decide which walls are allocated to each category using a simple spreadsheet.
Shoppers can see those categories in the map. They can also search your store based on the product names or any product keywords that you provide on your web site.
Design
The next step is to decide aesthetics. For example you may want special 3D shop fittings made, or other ambient walls which tell shoppers which departments they are in.
How long will it take?
In terms of your own time, it is unlikely to take you more than a few hours. 3B or a 3B partner can have your store up and running within a couple of weeks. The more tailoring you need the longer it takes.
Maintenance
Because the 3B store is linked to your existing store, as you drop or add products, so they are automagically dropped or added to your 3B store. ie. there is minimal maintenance required.
The only time some maintenance is usually needed is when you overhaul your existing web site or you significantly change the number of products in the departments.
